SARASOTA, Fla. – March 10, 2024 – Upon purchasing tickets to the Suncoast Boat Show this year, attendees have the opportunity to donate to Mote Marine Laboratory and contribute to a leading nonprofit organization working to protect and conserve our marine resources.
Funds will go to an issue currently in the news: Fish have been reported "spinning"—an abnormal behavior—and dying during the past few months in south Florida. This emerging problem is threatening an iconic species, the smalltooth sawfish. Sawfish deaths are spiking, which could have devastating consequences for this critically endangered ray. Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium is playing a critical role in the response effort—including a potential team initiative to rescue, rehabilitate and release sawfish under the direction of state and federal agencies.
Tickets for this year’s Suncoast Boat Show must be purchased in advance via the website https://www.eventspass.com/event/suncoastboatshow24?pr=WEB/#/buyTickets

For more than 40 years, the Suncoast Boat Show takes place in water and on land at Marina Jack along 65,000 square feet of dock space. The boat show grows bigger every year and returns to the luxurious waterfront April 19-21, 2024, presenting an extraordinary selection of sportfishing, power boats and motor yachts.
The Suncoast Boat Show is hosted by the U.S. Boat Show division of Informa Markets, the leading exhibitions organizer that owns and operates the world’s leading international boat and yacht events. The show will feature nearly 300 exhibits and fun activities for children, too.
On Saturday and Sunday, local television host Captain Don Dingman presents a youth fishing clinic entitled Hook the Future and gives each participant a free rod and reel. The program not only teaches kids how to fish, but parents also learn how important it is to spend quality time with their children.
